Plan descriptions

Free

Start here. Open the pre-loaded gems, render them live in both Solid and Realistic mode, trace light with Ray Studio, and estimate finished weight with the yield calculator. Renders are transparent (no color editing) and the material library is limited to Diamond, Peridot, and Glass. No credit card. No expiration.

Best for: learning, exploring, trying out GemDiagram before you subscribe.

Starter ($20/month)

Make the app your own: upload unlimited diagrams, edit them, and save .facet files locally. Export your design as a PDF, edit gem color, and use the full materials library.

Best for: hobbyist cutters editing and sharing diagrams.

Studio ($100/month)

Unlock the authoring and analysis tools: the Gem Designer (build cuts from scratch), the Cutting Assistant (step-by-step sequence at the machine, no auto-cut), the Rough Planner, and render screenshots.

Best for: cutters and designers authoring production work.

Pro ($200/month)

Everything in Studio plus the power features: auto-cut in the Cutting Assistant, frosted edges and facets, video recording of renders wherever a record button appears, Gem Showcase (a raytraced lineup of up to 6 gems at true scale), Client Preview links to show buyers a stone (up to 500 active at once), and PDF Import (beta) to turn a GemCAD or Gem Cut Studio cut sheet into an editable design.

Best for: anyone that wants the fastest workflow and the richest presentation.

What Starter adds

• Upload unlimited diagrams: bring in your own .facet, .gem, .gcs, and .asc files.
• Edit + save locally: change any design and download the .facet.
• PDF export: generate a printable, shareable cutting diagram.
• Color editing: set body color and color depth instead of transparent.
• Full materials library: every built-in material, not just the free three.

What Studio adds

• Gem Designer: build a cut from scratch — Guided wizard or Manual tier editor.
• Cutting Assistant: a tier-by-tier checklist while you cut (auto-cut is Pro).
• Rough Planner: find the best orientation to cut a given piece of rough.
• Screenshots: capture PNG images of your renders.

What Pro adds

• Auto-cut: let the Cutting Assistant drive the full sequence for you.
• Frosting: frosted edges and whole-facet frosting.
• Video recording: capture MP4 videos of your renders wherever a record button is available.
• Gem Showcase: a raytraced lineup of up to 6 gems at true physical scale, with a US dime for size reference. See Gem Showcase.

Upgrade anytime

You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Changes take effect immediately:

• Downgrade: lose access to higher-tier features, but your saved .facet files remain yours.
• Cancel: your local files stay on your device; re-subscribe anytime without losing work.
